Cell Description:                 Human adenocarcinoma, pancreas, from metastatic site: liver

 

Culture medium:                      RPMI 1640 with sodium bicarbonate, 2 mM L-glutamine and 1,0 mM sodium pyruvate, 85%; fetal bovine serum 15%.

 

Subculturing:                          Remove medium, rinse with fresh 0,025% trypsin solution, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at 37 ¡C until the cells detach (about ten minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense in new flasks. Subculture every 6 to 8 days

Split ratio:                                A ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended.

Fluid renewal:                         2 times weekly

Description:                            The cells will slough off the growth surface if they become too heavy. Capan-1 expresses the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) and secretes gastric type mucin.
