Cell description: African green monkey kidney, used for the isolation of water borne viruses e.g. polio 1, 2, 3, Echo 3, 6, 7, 9, 12, 27, Coxsackie A9 + B1, 2, 3 and Reo 1
Morphology: Fibroblast Medium: EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Sub Culture Routine: Split confluent cultures 1:8 to 1:20 i.e. seeding at 5 x 1.000 to 2.x.10.000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C
